Dental Veneers or Porcelain Veneers are mini crowns that only cover the front of your tooth. Veneers are used primarily for the front teeth and can be used either to repair a broken tooth or as a cosmetic procedure. When used cosmetically, veneers can dramatically improve and change your smile!
Veneers are routinely used to fix:
• Teeth that are discolored — either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discolored the tooth
• Teeth that are worn down
• Teeth that are chipped or broken
• Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped (for example, have craters or bulges in them)
• Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth)
It could take three visits before you walk out with your new veneers. Your first visit is a consultation to examine the teeth and develop a plan for your veneers.
The next visit will be to prepare your teeth and create molds. Finally, a few weeks later your new veneers will arrive and they will be applied and trimmed for your new great smile.
